This webinar is the second in the series and builds directly on Webinar 1: Navigating the Adaptation Finance Landscape. Where the first session mapped the adaptation finance landscape and the instruments available, this session turns to the project itself: what has to be true for an adaptation project to attract finance, and what regions and local authorities can do to get there. It starts from the central diagnosis, that adaptation is underfunded less because capital is unwilling than because too few projects are structured in a form investors can assess, and sets out what bankability means in practice, alongside the data, incentive and narrative gaps that hold projects back.

The core of the session is a step-by-step method: defining the project as a bounded investment, costing it across its full lifecycle, identifying a credible revenue or savings stream, allocating risk explicitly, and choosing a delivery structure investors can contract into. European examples and a real-life investor as a guest speaker show how different projects have solved the payer problem.
